Principle of Foot Mask
Foot mask contains 2-hydroxybenzoic acid, carboxylic acid, fruit acid, etc. Due to the presence of those acids, after using the foot mask, the corneum of the outermost layer of the skin is acidic, with a pH of about 3.5-4. The dermis layer inside the skin is that the normal PH value of human skin, generally 5.5-6.
Therefore, when the corneum and therefore the dermis layer are different in acidity and alkalinity, peeling will occur once they aren’t fused.
The Effect and Performance of Foot Mask
1. The foot mask softens calluses, dead skin and cutin, and accelerates cell metabolism through acidic components like 2-hydroxybenzoic acid, carboxylic acid and fruit acid contained in it.
These substances can play a task in promoting the aging and shedding of the hard skin of the foot, which is what we usually call “peeling”. But this effect isn’t permanent.
Because the corneum of the physical body will automatically renew once within the 28-day metabolic cycle.
2. Maintain the moisturizing ingredients within the foot mask to nourish the skin and moisturize dry skin. However, because the skin of the feet is going to be dehydrated and cracked thanks to the thick corneum. The maintenance-type foot mask also has an exfoliating effect, but it’s milder and can not cause large-scale peeling.
3. Skin whitening and skin rejuvenation. Some ladies’ troubles aren’t dead skin and dryness on the feet, but dullness and lack of luster caused by the sun. Most of foot masks have vitamin C, niacinamide, and other whitening ingredients, so it’s whitening and brightening effects.
